How I Frame Quality Setups On Nasdaq Futures

People ask D-Money this constantly: how do you put everything together? Ten years of trading, and the honest answer is that the hard part was never the strategy — it’s applying it while the market is actually moving. This video walks through today’s price action piece by piece to show exactly how it gets framed live.

Welcome to the BDH Trading Channel. This one’s part of the D-Money series, and it builds on the FAQ videos already up on the channel.

Start by looking to the left. If you’re not looking at how price reacted immediately to the left on your chart, you’re doing yourself a disservice. Price tells you the story of where it wants to go, and it leaves clues.

Here’s what the left side showed. A bullish EMA cross formed around 9:00 that morning. Price pushed up, came back to the EMA at 9:30, and got a bullish reaction straight back up. Then a strong push to the 200 EMA, followed by push, retracement, push, retracement — and then consolidation. Looking left, D-Money could see the market was bullish before he took a single trade.

The opening range gave the context. The 15-minute opening range ran from 30,606.50 on the high to 30,493.25 on the low. Price was consolidating inside that range from roughly 10:55 to 12:15, never breaking below the bottom of the ORB. Lows kept getting put in around 30,502.50, and every time price got down there it reacted back up. That’s not a coincidence — you get reactions in either direction when you’re sitting near the opening range.

The 30-minute chart confirmed it. Same pattern on the higher timeframe: push, retracement, and then a bottoming out where price simply could not go any lower.

The trade. On the 12 o’clock 30-minute candle, D-Money went long with a stop at the previous 30-minute candle low of 30,502.50 — and he said that out loud on stream before the trade. The low that got put in came to 30,506.50. Four points from the stop. Then the bazooka candle to the upside, and well over 40 points on the trade.

That’s the lesson inside the lesson: let the trades play out. If you get stopped out, you get stopped out. You’re not going to win every trade. But the thought process was a reaction off those lows, and that reaction turned into over 300 points of afternoon pump.

The follow-through. After the breakout, price started respecting the EMAs cleanly — the 14, 50 and 200 are what’s on D-Money’s chart. Push, retracement to the EMA, violent push back up, over and over. Each retracement into the 14 EMA was another long.

Mapping the target on the 1-hour. Looking left on the hourly, the closest level of interest sat between 30,794 and the candle high at 30,813. D-Money called that level out live before it hit. Price got there, poked through it, rejected, tried again for 30,800, rejected, tried once more, rejected again.

The actual advice: talk through what you’re seeing out loud. The market’s consolidating — what usually comes after consolidation? Momentum, bullish or bearish. We’re inside the opening range and not breaking lower — so what does that mean? You can study, you can backtest, you can have an A+ setup written down. None of it matters if you can’t piece it together in real time. That’s the skill worth working on.
